Who is this program for?

This program is for those with some prior knowledge or experience within the financial services industry. Participants will learn basic accounting skills and how to use computer based accounting systems. The program is particularly relevant for employees who perform office tax duties such as completing the Business Activity Statement (BAS).

How will I be assessed?

To gain the qualification you will have to pass a number of practical and workplace (or simulated workplace) assessments. The assessments for this course are based on both formal and informal processes as required by the government.

  • Apply principles of professional practice to work in the financial services industry

Elective Units

  • Establish and maintain a payroll system
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures relevant to bookkeeping activities
  • Establish and maintain a cash accounting system
  • Establish and maintain an accrual accounting system
